About
After Beta is written by James Nicholson, an Internet veteran and serial entrepreneur. My day job is the Founder and CEO of YourStreet.com, a website that maps local news and conversations down to the street level.
Prior to founding YourStreet, I was the founder and CEO of NetVentures, Inc., a pioneering e-commerce software company. I grew the company to profitability before it was successfully acquired by CNET in 1999. I then served as an executive in CNET’s Commerce and Operations groups, contributing to the company’s profitability and rapid growth.
After Beta covers Internet startups and the business of the web. How do you grow your business, build your traffic, and make money on the web? What new websites do you need to know about and which industry trends should you track? These are the questions After Beta explores.
After Beta seeks to be as transparent as possible in all things. Every month I will post this blog’s traffic stats and ad revenues, allowing everyone to see the progress of the blog. I will change blog templates regularly and report on the results I get from each template.
Whenever possible I will also post all press releases and pitch emails I receive when reviewing a website. So if you want your website reviewed, be on notice that I will post everything you send me. I believe strongly that readers should see not only the review, but also everything that went into that review.
In addition, I will always disclose when I own stock in a company I write about.
